Hopefully this full build video gives an idea of what was involved in the project. In total we used less than 2 sheets of MDF plus the skirting and fixings. Hopefully it gives you an idea of a simple way to upgrade your walls and halls.

What is the backer board you used. Is it mdf/ply? My wall is terrible. So need a base board like this.

  2. I can understand every tenth word. Terrible accent.

  3. Very good video, thank you for sharing!

  5. hi,

what pencil/marker is it you are using?

  6. Looks brilliant. Any ideas for the gap/joint filling.that won't crack

  7. antony says:

that biscuit joint skirting won't fall down for sure 😁glue it together + ditch that stapler= your only making work later filling , gripfill will hold it all ! (green tube)

  8. Luke says:

What's the name of that saw tool you use, with the protective guide-plate, please?

  9. Is it possible to shoot nails into cement wall?

  15. Toccoah Girl says:

I don’t want to use glue. Can I just nail??

  16. geoffdundee says:

smashing job….very elegant when finished………….panelling like this also works well on a ceiling – classy 🙂

  17. What size did you cut the panelling to? As I wanting to do panelling but I’m unsure what size to cut it to.

  18. What are the size of the strips you cut?

  19. If I were to take this approach, and run the mdf up to the door frames, you’ve used a total depth of 12mm, my door frames aren’t as deep as that. I could use 2 x 3mm depth mdf but probably doesn’t look as good – would you suggest replacing the door frame to accommodate?

  20. elpoo says:

cool, now come do my place

  21. Jersey Jim says:

Looks quite attractive. Guess its best to look at this as a permanent fixture since removing it would require new plasterboard.

  22. Lee Soulsby says:

Does the backing board have to be that thick ?

  23. Matthew Gurd says:

Great job, I’m planning to do something similar. For the backing bard is there any reason why you couldn’t use 3mm instead of the 6mm mdf?

  24. bighand69 says:

If it was me I would fix the sheet to the wall using a couple of screws and use some cleaver trim to cover the screws. It means if you want to remove it later it will be an easy job without actually ripping the plaster of the wall.

  25. Hi. Question please. If the two walls your panelling are not the same length, the spacing would work out differently. What should I do? Thank you very much.

  26. Hi, how much did this roughly cost in materials please?

  27. Imran Khan says:

  28. sorry whats the width of the mdf strips? and the mdf thickness? looks great
